A couple of months ago were some really exciting months. Getting approached by a Singaporean-based fabric stationery shop in particular almost topped the cake for me. Fact: I feast on delectable designs and hoard on products that catches my eye from time to time. This took me no more than a second to fall in love.
The Weave Co. offers a diverse collection of notebooks and cards. Not just any notebooks and cards, they are created from recycled materials (mostly fabric) sourced from around the world. Design with sustainability in mind, I'm sold.
A brainchild of Azizul's whose interest in the colours and design on textiles were picked during his travels to Sri Lanka led him to creating The Weave Co., a route less expected from a professional lawyer. The solo venture expanded with sibling Amirul in the picture, whose important contributions touch on the digital and social media aspects.
What was first a request for an interview, which you can read by clicking this link, leads us to here. I have been toying with the idea of recreating images of products with food and proposed it to Amirul who came back to me with a can-do attitude through our email-based texts. UMM best collaborator ever?
Here, I have created 4 different dishes/foods to project each design handpicked by yours truly, of which the featured products were also kindly given to me. Again, best collaborator ever?? The subjects are placed over a drawn boxed line depicting the size of the notebooks and cards.
The execution of this collaboration proved to be a feat with the limited resources that I have in Germany. It was challenging but it's the stimulating-fun-will-do-it-again sort of challenge. Like eating the leftovers.
Major thanks to the team. Check out their range of products on their website and knock yourself over with their tasteful designs!
